Now
Sound Solutions was started to fill what I saw as a basic void that existed in the area of active control. Quite simply... most companies didn't want or need to invest in full time active systems staff.
I know of companies that have spent millions of dollars creating active systems groups from the ground up. Did they achieve good goals? Yes. ...but, often, the price was unnecessarily high.
Sound Solutions exists to provide needed answers to our clients and nothing more. We join our client's team with decades of experience and the ability to let everyone hit the ground running.
Earlier
I have served in the role of CTO, Director of Research, and Chief Engineer of active control companies, Technical Director of an active systems group within an automotive OEM tier 1 parts supplier, General Manager and Technical Manager of an Advanced Technology facility, and Sr. Development Engineer of the same.
Skills
I program things. DSPs... Microcontrollers... PLCs... PCs... Anything, really. I have taught courses on control systems theory and very much enjoy doing so. I serve as a bridge between sometimes unreadable technical papers and the products that the technology buried in those papers can become. ...and I make things quiet. Not easy things, either. Hard things.
Regarding active control systems, I have personally installed or supervised the installation of close to 800 active control systems. I don't know if there is a record, but - if so - I'll put myself in the competition.
Education
I hold a PhD from Purdue University's School of Mechanical Engineering. I also have an MSME, BSME, and a co-operative education certificate from that same school. I am also Six Sigma certified.
